DCL and the Enticing “Activate” Button

Ever found yourself fumbling through the process of accepting and activating a DCL? If done incorrectly, you could find yourself frustrated, digging through TSC pages, trying to locate a clearance that has mysteriously vanished. For those of us who only occasionally use this function, it's easy to make mistakes—especially with that enticing "Activate" button just begging to be pressed!

I’d like to thank Wayne Geffon, who reached out with a guide he put together. Hopefully this will save you some “bad words” in the cockpit: “Steps to ensure a DCL with an amended route is saved to the CPDLC log.”

…and for PlaneView cockpits, Honeywell has a video outlining the same steps: CPDLC-DCL on Honeywell Equipped Aircraft | Honeywell Aerospace.
