G500 AOM Rev 7

AOM Issue 1 Rev 7

o   Section 04-10-10, Step 1a acknowledges what many of us have known since day one: you cannot service the oils on the ground service bus alone, you will need to have at least the main ship’s batteries on as well.

o   Section 04-10-20 used to warn you to “MONITOR FUEL QUANTITY TO ENSURE QUANTITY IMBALANCE DOES NOT EXCEED 1000 POUNDS (454 KG),” it has now raised that number to 5000 pounds.  It also tells you to “Abort simultaneous refueling operations if imbalance exceeds 5000 lbs (2268 kg).”

o   Section 04-30-20 no longer requires you to “Install the ram air turbine control lockout pin on the RAT handle in cockpit.”  It now suggests you “Install the Overwing Emergency Exit Lockout Pins as desired.”

o   Section 04-30-50 now contains a new procedure for connecting an external power unit.

o   Section 05-50-20 is said to have changed but the information is the same, just the formatting has been cleaned up.

o   The log of revisions and the change bars show the entire long paragraph of Section 05-110-10, Step 5a has changed.  It has not.  A reference at the bottom of the paragraph is now hotlinked.  Note to Gulfstream pubs: you can help us pilots to take these change bars more seriously if you target them more surgically.

Ground and Flight Operations (AOM Chapter 2) Revision 14

o   In the same spirit of making us read a long paragraph only to discover there was only a minor changer or no change at all, pages 19, 20, 21, 22, 28, and 30 of this chapter contain long change bars to denoted the change from “thrust lever” to “throttle.”

o   Pages 23, 24, 25, and 29 change FGCS to FD for selected ASEL, FPA, VASEL, and ILS modes.

o   On page 27, the section on VNAV Path used to say: “Selection of FLCH and VNAV (VFLCH) when below the path, will typically not re-intercept the constructed path and will continue (if the pre-selector allows) until FLCH inhibit activates (see descent section for a description).”  Now it says: “Selection of FLCH and VNAV (VFLCH) when below the path, will typically not re-intercept the constructed path and will continue until the pre-selector altitude is reached.”
