GVII - Internal Baggage Door CAS Message

Updated: 2021-09-10

You may have noticed that the GVII-G500 Issue 1 AFM was updated to change our internal baggage door restriction from above 40,000’ to above 45,000’ and that is great. But the cyan and amber “Internal Baggage Door” CAS messages were given the same “possible cause” which reads: “The Internal Baggage Door is open at an altitude of 45,000 feet (FAA).”

This is wrong. (At least that’s not what happened when we tried it yesterday.)

Cyan CAS Message

It was our experience that you get the cyan “Internal Baggage Door” CAS message whenever the door is open after engine start, including when airborne, until the door is either closed or the message is replaced by the amber message.

Amber CAS Message

Once we flew above 45,000 feet plus a hundred feet or so, if the internal baggage door was open, the amber “Internal Baggage Door” CAS message appears until the door is closed or it is replaced by the cyan message when descending.
